Hildegard writes of wild lavender in her Physica, chapters 1–25: "Wild lavender is warm and dry, and its warmth is healthy. 3 tablespoons of lavender blossoms, 1 liter of good white or red wine. Boil for 3 minutes, strain, and pour into clean bottles while still hot. Take one lukewarm liqueur glass three times daily. The treatment lasts 2–4 months.
